The Bulldog Strike Sensor is great for fishing with Kids and amateurs. 

In many cases Kids and Amateurs are not watching their rods.  They are in the live well or playing with other things.

When fishing with  my daughter and nephew they just listen for the horn and it gets their attention back to fishing.  They love listening for the horn and you don’t have to keep an eye on their rod for them.
